Attorney Grace Day drives a red sports car to work, carries a full caseload and may be the longest practicing female lawyer in the state, KMBC's Bev Chapman reported Friday.

Day, who graduated in 1949, said she was the only woman in her law school for three years.
"It was very difficult," she said. "They'd put my hair in ink wells. On law day, they'd try to throw me in the beer kettle with the ice."
But she said that didn't stop her from pursuing her dream.
"I just made up my mind I was going to be one of the boys," Day said. "When I got out of law school, it wasn't a darn bit better. Nobody wanted me when I got out, either."
Day said she has practiced family law for 57 years. She said clients sometimes tell her that, "'You represented my grandmother back when.'"
A wife, a mother of two lawyers and a grandmother, Day turns 80 next week.
"I can't believe I'm 80. I don't feel like it. I feel wonderful," she said.
During her career, she has been introduced to presidents and has been to the Supreme Court.
Chapman reported that Day's office is filled with paperwork for hundreds of people she has helped. Co-workers said she isn't slowing down.
"She would put many young attorneys working with her into the ground," said Dan Boulware with Shughart Thomson and Kilroy.
"It goes pretty fast. I try not to put the foot too hard on the pedal," Day said.
She said she can't imagine retiring yet.
"Can we come back when you turn 90?" Chapman asked.
"I told the staff, 'I'm expecting another big party when I'm 90,'" Day said.
She and her husband enjoy traveling in their spare time. They will celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day.
